SCHULLER KITCHENS

Lava Black  & Concrete Ceramic

Schuller Kitchens project using Uni Lava Black & Elba Concrete Ceramic

The use of the dark handle-less doors in Lava Matt Black from the Schuller Uni door range and the Concrete Ceramic from the Schuller Elba door range makes for a solid, contemporary kitchen design.

Handle-less German kitchens have come along way since their traditional gloss white of the 1990's, with matt, glass fronts, lacquers, textured colours and a diverse colour palette to choose from.

This open plan design with a large island  housed in a home extension is a very popular way to make the most of your expanded floor space and not be bound by the original home's dimensions.

Siemens

Siemens appliances were used including twin ovens and gas hob with wok station.

The careful consideration to the different colour choices and textured surfaces evidently paid of dividends from looking at this image.

The white crystal ceramic worktop with minimal edging allows for a neater look to the large format island and the use of the Elba Concrete Ceramic doors and decorative panels add a great depth of character.

Subtle finishes such as the Concrete Ceramic breakfast bar and under-counter lighting add even more depth.

From the reverse angle the Schuller Elba Concrete Ceramic panels, doors and breakfast bar are shown in greater detail.

The ergonomic principles of german kitchen design in terms of the cooking triangle are evident in this photo.

With the gas hob to the island and ample food preparation space both sides of the hob, plus both sides of the sink directly opposite give a very well planned food prep zone, with the twin ovens easily accessible and in a space that is free from obstruction.

This photo really shows off the Schuller Elba Concrete Ceramic to the above counter wall units and how close the Schuller Pinara light grey effect surface for the chunky breakfast bar match in terms of colour and texture.

Colour matching is one thing Schuller kitchens does far better than other brands and for us designers it is such a useful feature as we don't need to worry about mis-matching.

Whilst induction hobs account for the majority of hobs we have designed into our kitchens over the years, the Siemens IQ700 90cm ceramic gas hob used here is a great alternative.

As anyone who has shaken a wok around on an induction hob will tell you, its a costly mistake.

Wok cooking with this dedicated wok station to the Siemens IQ700 is first rate and the pan supports are dishwasher safe, for ease of cleaning.

The use of Siemens was continued using the IQ700 range for twin single ovens as shown here.

The dark ceramic and chrome finish from the IQ700 range perfectly complement Schuller furniture and you will notice that the knobs, handles and buttons across the Siemens IQ700 range are uniform in their design, allowing for greater continuation of the design aesthetic.
